SilvermanAcampora is special counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of Residential Capital, LLC, et al. The firm advises the Creditors Committee on matters related to the Debtors’ borrowers and their mortgages. Residential Capital, LLC and its 50 other affiliated companies, including GMAC Mortgage, LLC, are a group of major mortgage lenders and mortgage servicers who filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in May of 2012.
Agape World, Inc.
SilvermanAcampora has been retained as counsel to the Trustee in the Agape World, Inc. bankruptcy case which is pending in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York - Central Islip. Federal authorities have alleged that a $380 million dollar ponzi scheme to defraud investors was run through Agape World, Inc. and its affiliated entity Agape Merchant Advance, LLC.
Dreier LLPSilvermanAcampora recently represented a Manhattan couple in defending claims made by several parties associated with the chapter 11 estate of Dreier LLP. In addition to negotiating a favorable settlement of all claims asserted by the chapter 11 trustee, the Firm successfully defended the couple against indemnification claims asserted by multiple co-defendants.
Frito-Lay North America, Inc.
SilvermanAcampora successfully represented a major designer and manufacturer of food processing equipment in a lawsuit brought by Frito-Lay in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The lawsuit alleged that the manufacturer infringed upon the patents and trademarks of Frito-Lay’s “Tostitos SCOOPS!” brand in its manufacturing of processing equipment for a “store brand.”
Janitorial Close-out CitySilvermanAcampora recently represented a husband and wife that were sued by the chapter 7 trustee of the Janitorial Close-out City, et al., substantively consolidated estates. Although the Trustee had alleged that the Firmís clients were insiders of the debtor and cohorts of the estateís Ponzi scheme perpetrator, the Firm successfully negotiated a favorable settlement for its clients for less than 10% of the amount demanded.

SilvermanAcampora represented a Canadian-based real estate investment trust who owned the mortgage note on the chapter 11 Debtor’s newly constructed apartment complex in Midtown Manhattan. The Firm successfully negotiated a plan providing for the transfer of the property to our client, who currently owns and operates the complex.
M. Slavin & Sons, Ltd.
SilvermanAcampora represented M. Slavin & Sons, Ltd. and successfully confirmed a chapter 11 plan of reorganization. M. Slavin & Sons, Ltd. continues to operate and is involved in the wholesale and retail sale of seafood on a worldwide basis.
New Stream Real Estate LLC
SilvermanAcampora successfully obtained more than $1 million for mortgage lender New Stream Real Estate, LLC in connection with a New York State court foreclosure action.
Spongetech Delivery Systems, Inc.
SilvermanAcampora represents the chapter 7 trustee of Spongetech Delivery Systems, Inc. Spongetech, the producer of sponges for various cleaning purposes, is known for its advertisements in sports stadiums across the country. The SEC has also alleged that Spongetech was the centerpiece of a massive “pump and dump” scheme perpetrated by the company’s top executives.
MaribellaX Group, Ltd.
SilvermanAcampora represented the chapter 11 trustee of MaribellaX Group, Ltd., a major commercial real estate landlord in the New York City area. In this capacity, the Firm advised the trustee in his successful resolution of the debtor’s case, resulting in a 100% distribution to all creditors and the return of several key pieces of income-producing property to the debtor.
New York Merchants Protective Company
SilvermanAcampora represents the receiver of New York Merchants Protective Company. NYMP is a major vendor and servicer of both residential and commercial alarm systems. The firm assists the receiver in the continued operation of the business as well as in litigation on behalf of the company.
VeraSun Energy Corporation
SilvermanAcampora represents the Reorganized Debtors in the wind-down of VeraSun Energy Corporation and its 24 affiliated companies. VeraSun was a major producer of ethanol fuel, with production plants and subsidiary companies across the country.
Interep National Radio Sales, Inc.
SilvermanAcampora represents the trustee in the chapter 7 case of Interep National Radio Sales, Inc. and its fourteen related entities. Interep was a major competitor in the marketplace, engaged in the sales of broadcast advertisement airtime on a nation-wide basis.
Current representation of chapter 7 trustee in liquidation of publicly traded distributions conglomerate; worked with the United States Attorney’s Office in uncovering a massive fraud perpetrated by certain officers and directors’ and their respective family members that resulted in severe financial losses to secured and unsecured creditors and shareholders; prosecuted over 700 preferential transfer and fraudulent conveyance actions, as well as claims against the officers, directors and accountants, resulting in the recovery of millions of dollars.
Represented the Debtor and the Distributing Agent in connection with the orderly liquidation of a retailer of seasonal goods. Negotiated a settlement with the secured creditor that allowed a distribution to be made to unsecured creditors which, absent such a settlement, would not likely have received any distribution.

Pergament Home Centers, Inc.
Represented Pergament’s Creditors’ Committee in connection with its chapter 11. Successfully negotiated a plan of liquidation with the secured creditor and obtained confirmation of the plan.
As Chapter 11 Operating Trustee, successfully reorganized and liquidated portfolio of syndicated tax leasing equipment shelters.
Norstan Apparel Shops, Inc.
