After months of negotiations, the historic Woodcrest Club, represented by SilvermanAcampora partners Kenneth Silverman and Gerard Luckman, sold at auction for $19 million. Southern District of New York Bankruptcy Court Judge Burton Lifland approved a $26.3 million reorganization plan for retailer Crabtree & Evelyn. The plan, financed by parent company and SilvermanAcampora client KLK, will allow Crabtree & Evelyn to reorganize on its own and exit bankruptcy protection by the end of the month; a feat that has become exceedingly rare in today’s difficult economic climate. SilvermanAcampora is pleased to have crafted a plan that both benefits KLK and allows Crabtree & Evelyn to emerge from bankruptcy protection as a stronger, more efficient retailer.

Ronald J. Friedman successfully represented the chapter 11 Trustee for Ridgemour Meyer Properties, LLC in confirming a chapter 11 plan relating to a substantial real estate project in White Plains, New York. His continued operation of income producing, prime real property fostered circumstances that allowed equity holders to confirm a plan of reorganization, resulting in paying unsecured creditors 100% plus interest, increasing the monthy rent roll, and leadning to a settlement of partnership developer's claims involving multi-year litigations for the sum of $5.7 million.

SilvermanAcampora LLP, as debtor’s counsel to Mrs. John L. Strong in its pending chapter 11 bankruptcy case, assisted the company in closing on a sale of substantially all of its assets, including its intellectual property, for $975,000 after conducting an auction on September 23, 2009 in the S.D.N.Y. Bankruptcy Court. The opening initial overbid was $525,000. The sale closed on October 22, 2009, with the proceeds anticipated to provide a significant return to general unsecured creditors. Silverman Acampora LLP continues to assist the Debtor in winding down in chapter 11.

Usenet.com, et al., the Recording Industry Association of America's multi-million dollar copyright infringement action against a popular "peer to peer"  file sharing network.  Having granted summary judgement against Usenet.com's principal, Gerald Reynolds, Judge Baer appointed Mr. Friedman to marshal and liquidate all of Reynolds' property for the benefit og the Recording Indusrty plaintiffs.

The Firm is to represent the debtor in the $100 million restructuring efforts of 11 shopping center properties located in the Southeastern United States.

SilvermanAcamjpora LLP represents the Publicis Groupe Agencies as creditors in the General Motors chapter 11 cases pending in the United States Bankruptcy Court of the Southern District of New York.

SilvermanAcampora LLP was retained by Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad (“KLK”) a Malaysian public company which is the ultimate parent company of Crabtree & Evelyn, Ltd. to represent KLK’s interests in the chapter 11 bankruptcy proceeding of Crabtree & Evelyn, Ltd.  SilvermanAcampora has advised KLK regardiing (i) securing interim approval of Debtor-in-possession financing of $8 million; (ii) the $40 million DIP facility that is subject to the approval of Southern District Bankruptcy Judge Burton R. Lifland on July 29, 2009 and (iii) negotiating an agreed budget for the operations of the entity.

SilvermanAcampora LLP was selected as lead counsel by the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the AGT Crunch Acquisition, LLC et. al. chapter 11 cases pending before Southern District of New York bankruptcy Judge Robert E. Gerber.  The “Crunch” cases involve 22 separate debtors with over $80 million in annual sales and 1716 employees operating 37 fitness training clubs throughout the United States.

SilvermanAcamora LLP was retained by the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors as its conflicts counsel in the Mark IV Industries, Inc. et. al. chapter 11 cases pending in the Southern District of New York before Chief Judge Stuart M. Bernstein.  Mark IV Industries, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of engineered systems and components for transportation infrastructure, vehicles and equipment; world wide operations with 4,200 employees and $1.4 billion in sales.

In February 2009, SilvermanAcampora was retained as counsel to the Trustee in the Access Medical Group, P.C. bankruptcy case which is pending in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York – White Plains.  Access Medical Group, P.C. consists of a team of
twelve board certified physicians specializing in Endocrinology, Hematology, Oncology, Urology, Internal Medicine, Rheumatology and Podiatry.

SilvermanAcampora LLP has been retained to represent the buyer of substantially all of the assets of NorthEast Windows, LLC in its pending Chapter 11 bankruptcy case.

In November 2008, the Firm was retained as conflicts counsel to the Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 cases of Value City Stores which are pending in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Value City is in the process of liquidating is assets through court-ordered going out of business sales and closing its remaining 67 stores.

On October 24, 2008, Kenneth P. Silverman was appointed the trustee in the chapter 7 cases of Interep National Radio Sales, Inc., et al. pending in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.  Interep National Radio Sales was the largest independent sales and marketing company specializing in radio, the Internet, television and complementary media.
