Recycle, reuse, renew. Green Policy, Green Initiative.
SilvermanAcampora believes that waste reduction and energy conservation goes hand-in-hand with operating an environmentally responsible law firm in the greater Long Island community.
The Firm reduces its paper consumption by using recycled paper for printing, copying, and holiday cards. In addition, the Firm has limited the distribution of paper copies of internal reports, faxes and memoranda. The Firm has changed the setting on printers, copiers, and scanners to two-sided to halve the amount of paper that was previously used by the Firm. In addition, the Firm is reducing the toner settings on all printers and copiers so that less toner is used for printing, while continuing to recycle toner cartridges as it has in the past. We recycle plastic bottles. We work with vendors to recycle cans. We donate used office furniture and computer equipment to employees or local charities.
The Firm is committed to conserving energy, and has implemented several policies to reduce the use of electricity including ensuring that all computers and computer displays are powered off at night, ensuring that all lights are turned off when not in use, and setting printers and copiers so that they will go into ‘sleep’ mode when not in use.
