JAY S. HELLMAN
Jay Hellman is a member of the Commercial and Bankruptcy Litigation Practice Group. His experience includes accountants’ malpractice, construction, complex bankruptcy, commercial and appellate litigation. Mr. Hellman’s broad range of experience also includes the representation of various public agencies, such as libraries and school districts, in connection with all general counsel matters, labor law issues, education law matters and public construction projects. Mr. Hellman has experience in the representation of high-profile architectural and engineering firms in contract negotiation matters and defense of malpractice claims.
Mr. Hellman received his Juris Doctor from The University of Missouri-Columbia in 1994 and was a member of the Missouri Law Review. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1989. He is admitted to practice in the Courts of the State of New York, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Mr. Hellman is a member of the New York State Bar Association and American Bankruptcy Institute.
