Randy J. Schaefer received her Juris Doctor from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 1992 where she received the American Jurisprudence Award in Real Estate Transactions. Ms. Schaefer received her Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1987. She is admitted to practice in the State Courts of New York and in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. She is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association and participates in the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the Nassau/Suffolk Law Services Committee. In January 2008, Ms. Schaefer was appointed as the Executive Vice President to Touro College’s Alumni Counsel.
After graduating from Touro, Ms. Schaefer served for 9 years as the staff attorney for the Standing Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Trustee for the Eastern District of New York as well as being associated with Macco Hackeling & Stern where she practiced primarily in the areas of creditors’ rights and bankruptcy. She also represented individual Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 debtors as well as Chapter 11 debtors and major financial institutions including Ford Motor Credit. Thereafter, in 2003, she joined the firm of Silverman Acampora LLP as an associate and in 2006 became counsel to the firm concentrating in the areas of creditors’ rights and bankruptcy.
